The people of Christ Episcopal
Church embraced the words of St. Paul even as early as 1828 when the
parish was chartered. One of the earliest actions of the vestry in
1830 was to purchase an organ.
As our parish begins its 176th year, the strong musical tradition continues with services of evensong, lessons and carols, recitals, and four choirs for parishioners ages 3 through adult to raise their voices in praise to God. Both Youth and Adult Choirs enjoy hosting visiting choirs as well as traveling to other parishes in this country and in England.

THE ST. GREGORY CHOIR K-1st grade children prepare for their entrance into the St. Cecelia Singers.
THE ST. CECELIA SINGERS A group of more than 30 singers in grades 2-6 who sing for the 9 AM Sunday service.
ADULT CHOIR For high school students and adults, the leads the music for the 11 AM Sunday service. Both Youth and Adult Choirs enjoy hosting visiting choirs as well as traveling to other parishes in this country and in England.
ALABAMA CHOIR SCHOOL This nationally known school was founded and is now housed at Christ Church by Music Director, Karen Nicolosi, More than 300 children of all denominations and races ages six to eighteen are enrolled in this nine month program. The choirs have traveled and sung in many venues including The White House at Christmas 2003. LEARN MORE
